The importance of visiting the mission field: Nothing has impacted me for the cause of missions like making a trip to see it first hand. All the reports, letters, videos, and testimonies of missionaries and nationals have been outstanding. However, seeing the people in their homes and in the work places, and worshiping with them has had the greatest influence on me. Likewise the people of our church have been greatly influenced by taking a trip to see firsthand the work of Christ.
Mombasa, Kenya contact Chris Moore.” At that moment, I knew the Lord wanted me on that trip. I ended up calling Chris that night and talked to him for almost two hours on the phone. I told him my testimony; he told me the vision of real4christ and the Lord gave me comfort.
All the months of preparations could not answer my question “Is this real?” All the pictures, all testimonies all the accounts describing the depth of poverty and the lack of hope in the eyes of children did not penetrate, until I visited. Seeing the contrast of hope, the mountains of joy and levels of excitement in the heart and songs of the children inside the mission walls compared to those outside the walls looking and desiring to be in, I was overcome with conviction. The first two days were days of repentance asking Jesus to forgive me for not responding sooner. Seeking Jesus forgiveness, for sitting on the talents and gifts given unto me.
